Also to be seen on the trail is a variety of small game, whale watching during mating and calving season, the 2^nd largest seal colony on the west coast, and a kaleidoscope of succulent flower beauty in season. As for the name Namaqua Silver Sands, this trail also hosts the only living dune system in South Africa which add to the trail's uniqueness.
